Pandora's Box is an unlockable activated item.

• In Greek legend, Pandora's Box is a jar containing all of the evils of the world. It was given to the first woman created, who, in her curiosity, opened it, releasing every evil unto the land. Once the evils were released, the only thing that remained was Elpis, the Spirit of Hope.
• Pandora's Box, along with Strange Key, is likely a reference to David Lynch's 2001 film Mulholland Drive.
• The rewards for Greed Mode changed in patch v1.06.J168; the rewards given in Caves are instead given in Basement, and so on.
• Despite Pandora’s Box’s sprite depicting a keylock, the item does not require a key to open.
• In the game files, Pandora's Box's sprite is named Blue Box while Box of Friends' sprite is named Pandora’s Box. Lazarus Unlocks The Lamb Unlocks The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
