Leprosy is an unlockable passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth † (Booster Pack #2).

• The description "You're tearing me apart!" is a reference to the movie The Room (which Edmund has said he is a big fan of), in which Tommy Wiseau famously exclaims "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!".
• Leprosy was inspired by a Steam Workshop item by Bobby Lashley Fangirl #1.
• The item used to be misspelled "Leprocy" but was corrected in a later patch.
• Leprosy is a bacterial disease that damages nerves and can cause extremities to rot in extreme cases. A misconception about the disease claims that it causes body parts to fall off, which may have inspired the item’s function.
