Spirit Sword is an unlockable passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

• Spirit Sword is from the Antibirth mod. It was available from the start.
• The item's name is a reference to the Sword of the Spirit, one of the many armaments that make up the Armor of God. This is further supported by the fact that it is an Angel Room item.
• The function of this item mimics the Swords in many The Legend of Zelda games, particularly those that play top-to-bottom, such as A Link to the Past.
• The sword's name is likely a homage to the Master Sword, which first appeared in A Link to the Past.
• The ability of the sword being able to send a projectile of a sword at high health is a reference to the classic Master Sword from the game The Legend of Zelda.
• The sword becoming a lightsaber when combined with Technology is a reference to Star Wars.
• This item is used in Isaac's Awakening (challenge #39).
• Spirit Sword is the only item in the game that can override Epic Fetus.
• Although this item is normally only available in the Angel Room, it can be found as one of the Nintendo-themed Treasure Room items in the 6th of December's Daily Run, which is an homage to the late CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata.

Bug! When reaching 30.00 Tear Rate or higher, Spirit Sword will continuously use the spin attack, only stopped by holding down a fire key. This is likely due to the fact that starting at 30.00 Tear Rate, the internal number is "0", and begins to go negative beyond that. Bug! In waterlogged rooms, the reflection of the sword swings in the opposite direction of the actual sword, when it should swing in the same direction. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
