Act of Contrition is a passive item added in The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.

• +0.7 tears up.
• Grants an Eternal Heart.
• Allows Angel Rooms to spawn even after Isaac has taken a Deal with the Devil.
• Increases the chance for a deal to appear by 40% if Isaac has taken Red Heart damage, and an additional 15% if Red Heart damage was taken against the boss.
• Both bonuses are applied after the normal penalty for damage, effectively mitigating them to -24% instead of -64% for taking damage during the stage, and to -44% instead of -99% for taking damage against the boss.

• Act of Contrition originates from the Antibirth mod. It originally granted an Immortal Heart instead of an Eternal Heart, a heart type that was not added in Repentance. It also did not have the effect to increase the Devil/Angel chance.
